Environmental Nuisances: Noise, Light, Odour, & Fugitive Dust

Held in May, 2007, this conference focused on the technological developments, case studies, and solutions to Environmental Nuisances. It included a half-day plenary session on the policy aspects of environmental nuisances, two half-day concurrent sessions on noise, light, odour, and fugitive dust, and a half-day plenary session dealing with stakeholder participation and management issues.

This conference included particpants from municipal, regional, federal and provincial government (especially those from Environment, Transportation, and Infrastructure departments); academia; business; agricultural business; and consultants.

Managing Ship Emissions and Effluents: A North American Perspective

Held in May 2006 in Vancouver, BC, this international conference focused on the control and management of air emissions and liquid effluents from ships, emphasizing the environmental issues associated with North American shipping. The program explored technological advances, regulatory issues, and cooperative international relationships affecting the shipping industry. The conference featured speakers from Canada and the United States, as well as some European nations.
