Puget Sound Chapter,
Pacific Northwest International Section
2007-2008 OFFICERS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS
May 6 Turnover Meeting - Chris and Claude - Turnover of the ORB and Gavel
Claude Williams, Board Position Chair (2008 – 2009)
Last year Claude finished a three year tour as a chapter board member but has continued as a volunteer to take care of the PNWIS and PS Chapter web pages and the section’s Email List Serve. Claude received his Mechanical Engineering degree in 1978 from the
University of
New Mexico . He was commissioned as a Naval Officer and became Main Propulsion Assistant on a Navy Frigate after washing out of flight school. (The Navy’s planes are rated for 10-G’s, … just not on the landing gear). After 3 years at sea he became a Naval Engineering Instructor in
Rhode Island . He eventually rejoined the real world as a facilities engineer at GE (Syracuse NY), as an environmental engineer at GE, and later as a Mechanical Engineering consultant in
Bellevue, WA . Claude has been with the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency as an air permit engineer since 1990. Claude received “Best Presentation” at PNWIS 2006, but really wanted the “Bent Black Banana”. He is able to leap street curbs in a single bound but falls off Mechanical Bulls. He now lives in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle because he figures the hill will become another
San Juan island, if global warming continues at its present pace. Claude says, "Anything worth doing, is worth doing to excess".
