Missoula - the Garden City

Home to The University of Montana, Missoula’s nickname is the Garden City for its mild winters relative to the rest of Montana. Depending on the season, we hike, ski, fish, backpack, run rivers, and ride mountain bikes. The 2008 Census Bureau estimate puts the city's metropolitan area population at 107,320, making it the second-largest city in Montana.

Missoula is located three hours south of Glacier National Park and three-and-a-half hours west of Yellowstone National Park. It is surrounded by national forests and wilderness areas. Our international airport is serviced by airlines such as Alaska Airlines (Horizon), United, Delta (Northwest), and Allegiant Air. Please see the official website of Missoula.

The University of Montana

The University of Montana is a state university located in Missoula. The school was founded in 1893, and is the largest campus in the five-campus University of Montana System.

The University of Montana has 10 Truman Scholars, 14 Goldwater Scholars, and 28 Udall Scholars to its name. The University of Montana’s Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library houses the earliest authorized edition of the Lewis and Clark journals.

Rolling Stone magazine has called the university the "Most scenic campus in America", while Outside Magazine states that UM is "Among the top 10 colleges nationally for combining academic quality and outdoor recreation".
