PNWIS 2010: Training our Future Environmental Professionals
The Montana Chapter of the Pacific Northwest International Section (PNWIS) of the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is proud to host the Annual PNWIS Conference at The University of Montana in Missoula, Nov 3-5, 2010.
This is indeed a special event, as this is the 50th anniversary of the PNWIS annual conference. In addition, this is the first time the event will be held at a university setting.
PNWIS 2010 will consist of several concurrent lines of technical presentations focused on current and relevant environmental issues, exhibitor displays, and the student Environmental Challenge.
Call for Abstracts: Abstracts will be due September 15, 2010.
Student abstracts due October 1, 2010.
We will also have both a professional development and Young Professionals course held directly before the start of the conference.
Missoula - the Garden City
Home to The University of Montana, Missoula’s nickname is the Garden City for its mild winters relative to the rest of Montana. Depending on the season, we hike, ski, fish, backpack, run rivers, and ride mountain bikes. The 2008 Census Bureau estimate puts the city's metropolitan area population at 107,320, making it the second-largest city in Montana.
Missoula is located three hours south of Glacier National Park and three-and-a-half hours west of Yellowstone National Park. It is surrounded by national forests and wilderness areas. Our international airport is serviced by airlines such as Alaska Airlines (Horizon), United, Delta (Northwest), and Allegiant Air. Please see the official website of Missoula.
