PNWIS 2016 is excited to announce that Denise Koch, the Director of Air Quality of the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, will be featured as the keynote speaker. 


Denise Koch has worked in the environmental field in Alaska since 2002.  She has worked both for DEC and as a consultant to private industry.  Ms. Koch has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Virginia and a Master’s of Science in Public Health from the University of Washington.  Within DEC, she served as the first manager of the cruise ship pollution prevention program, manager of the APDES wastewater primacy assumption project, and as of April 2015 as the Director of the Division of Air Quality.  She is a member of WESTAR and the Fairbanks Metropolitan Area Transportation System (FMATS) policy committee.
