April 30 Meeting – Elephant & Castle

This month’s meeting for the Puget Sound chapter of A&WMA will be held at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, April 30 at Elephant & Castle in downtown Seattle (1415 Fifth Avenue, Seattle, WA 98101).  Please note the new venue.  At that time, we look forward to hearing a technical presentation by June Coover regarding environmental management systems.  There is no need to RSVP for the April meeting, but please let me know if you have any topics you would like included on the agenda.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Spring Social and Seattle Steam Tour (May 14)

Please join us for the Puget Sound Chapter Spring Social.  We will enjoy food and drinks at the Washington Athletic Club in downtown Seattle. Come network, relax, and enjoy the company of your fellow environmental professionals in a casual atmosphere.  Participants in the A&WMA Boiler MACT Workshop Series are also invited to join local chapter members for this event by registering below.

November-December Meeting

The November and December meetings of the Puget Sound Chapter will be combined into a single event to accommodate the holiday schedule.  The meeting will be held Tuesday, December 4 and will include a tour of the Brightwater facility.  More details will be provided soon.

The Dirt on PM2.5: Implementation and Issues in 2012 and Beyond

The Puget Sound Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association will be broadcasting the webinar, “The Dirt on PM2.5:  Implementation and Issues in 2012 and Beyond”, this Friday at the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency.  This is the Air & Waste Management’s latest webinar that addresses major issues being address in the PM2.5 New Source Review program at both the federal and state levels.  More information: www.awma.org/Public/webinar.aspx.

South Sound Meeting

The Puget Sound chapter will be meeting at The Hub (http://hub.harmonbrewingco.com/) in Tacoma at 6:30 PM, September 25.  Prior to the meeting, A&WMA members will be hosting an environmental career panel at the University of Puget Sound from 4:30-6:00 PM.  The career panel will be held in Thompson Hall; parking is available south of the building at N. Union and 14th.

Puget Sound Chapter Fall Social & Tour – August 28th

Join the A&WMA Puget Sound Chapter for an environmental tour on Safeco Field focusing on their waste reduction and recycling program.  We’ll follow the tour with appetizers and beverages at Pyramid Alehouse!

Where:  Safeco Field – Meet at the 3rd base entrance to Safeco Field (north of the intersection of Dave Niehaus Way and S. Atlantic Street).  We’ll follow the tour with a social and Pyramid Alehouse.

Free EPA Webinar – RICE NESHAP

An EPA webinar on the RICE NESHAP changes will be hosted at the offices of the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA; 1904 3rd Ave Suite 105, Seattle) and Northwest Clean Air Agency (NWCAA; 1600 S. 2nd St, Mount Vernon) on June 20 from 10am to 1pm.  Local speaker Heather Valdez will be live in the PSCAA office.  For more details, refer to the attached webinar info and regulatory changes summary.
